Funny story: When I was a freshman in HS, the marching band (that I was a member of) went on a tour of the Pacific NW. Portland, Seattle, and Victoria, BC. We had a parade and several concert gigs scheduled. This was in Spring 1992.
When we got to Seattle, me and two other guys grabbed a phone book and started looking up names. We found both Eddie Vedder’s and Chris Cornell’s numbers listed and proceeded to call them from our hotel room. No one answered, but we each left messages on their machines telling them how we were big fans of their groups and how they inspired us.
Don’t know if they actually got the messages, but I hope they did.

We had some kind of Internet learning computer station in our campus library (it’s a very hoity toity HS, as now the students all are given iPads instead of textbooks), but that was the extent of the internet at the time.
The White Pages were where it was at!

I really can’t stand Pearl Jam. And I’ve tried multiple times, I just can’t get into them, at all If Pearl Jam were to cease to exist tomorrow I wouldn’t shed a single tear.
About the closest thing I’ve ever gotten to even liking Eddie Veder’s voice is Hunger Strike, and I really only liked that song because of Chris Cornell.

Grohl is one of those artists I so would like to love but just can’t. I mean he’s a fantastic guy, good musician and all but I just don’t love his songs.
That said Foo Fighters are one of the last big bands to have to have that punk attitude and I would be very sad to see them go.
Personally I would have 24/7 surveillance on Frank Black and even more importantly to Joey Santiago (he’s gone through some shit recently).
