A 2005 Doublecab. Very impressed. No squeaks, no rattles. It was ridiculously quiet, and a smooth ride. I was very impressed.
Id like to drive an access cab, to see how the cabin feels.

I’ve never been in a DC 1st gen Tundra. I had an AC. Loved it, very solid truck. I foolishly thought my friends would never want to cram themselves in the back of the AC. I was wrong. If you’d transport regular people in it, though, it’s only good for short jaunts.

They’re very solid trucks. I just can’t get over how disproportional the body looks.

My only beef with gen 1 Tundra’s is the dash is just a melted Jelly bean of horror.

Funny you should mention Jelly Beans, this model is so similar to what I call the Jelly Bean F-150 for the late 90's, early 2000's. Both inside and outside.

I worked a summer job in college selling Toyotas when these were new. I always hated parking them on the crowded dealer lot. So long.

I’ve had my ‘06 for 2 years now, 15k miles - it’s a fantastic driving truck. Only problem I’ve had is that all of the speakers blew out and a 02 sensor went bad.

You’re not gonna like the 3rd gen with its slapped together cheap plastic fantastic interior.

The access cab is hopefully my next truck. I want to buy one sooner rather than later before the market realizes what gems these are. Cheaper than a loaded 1st gen Tacoma and far more useful (not that I wouldn’t kill for a loaded Taco)

Can you fit a baby car seat back there?

In a AC? Doubtful with a rear facing. That front seat would have to be all the way up, for sure. In a DC, as many as you want.
