And I started my racing career here way back in 2001, but Pittsburgh International Race Complex is not just a great circuit, it’s really pretty too. They still need a few upgrades but I think they’re almost ready to host an IMSA/IndyCar level event.

Agreed that it’s a great facility, and not just because it’s my “home” track as well. The track itself is better than VIR, especially since they just finished repaving the “old” section.

They’re hosting a MotoAmerica race this year, which as far as I am aware is the “biggest” series they’ve hosted yet. They are actually running practice today, from what I’ve heard there were several riders that got into the 1:39s on the full course - Holy crap that’s fast.

As far as upgrades go, the single biggest thing that is missing is electricity in the pits. After that, more and better spectator areas.

I’ll be there this weekend, can’t wait!

The control tower needs an upgrade too, it’s the same box-car structure that they’ve had since they originally opened.

VIR is a great circuit but I have to agree that PittRace may be even better. It has several passing spots, some great elevation changes and a couple of blind, fast corners. It’s also just as pretty!
