First off it was Friday May 5th, and we were getting about an inch of rain in New England. I ran in the intermediate group as it was my first time at Palmer and it was wet. The pace of my group was a bit slower than me so I got a lot of passes and open track.

Lsd

Oil cooler (grill opened up as well)

Wilwood dp6 calipers (bp20 pads, not up to task apparently) race fluid, air ramps and cut aero flaps and slotted rotors

Coilovers

Full bolt ons

Re71rs on 17x8 moda wheels

Kirkey Road Race seat

New wipers.

I was on Thompson the next day for open lapping and time trials and between Friday and Saturday wasted those bp20 pads(mostly beat up during the 45 stops from 115mph to 60mph.)

I think there is an aero penalty to opening up the grill. Def helps cooling though.

Lots of wheel spin lol, no spin though. I’ve set the car up to be very neutral on track so it felt safe even with everything turned off. Saw a Miata spin behind trying to keep up. Lots of hydroplaning in one corner and on the main straight there were muddy rivers running across the track that would lift you up temporarily. It feels a lot safer on track in the rain than you expect!!

Sweet! That reads like a wish list for me. Except for the pads apparently. I bet the Lsd made a huge difference.

Very nice and thanks.

So apparently hawk makes pads for this caliper which I’m gonna try out. I’ve been building this car for 4years so lots of time spent getting it here. Lsd was great, gets rid of the traction issues that people complain about and helps the brakes not get soo hot.

I see you replaced the calipers; are the rotors still the stock size for a 2013?

The 2013s were so known for brake problems and pad wear that Ford later started putting larger rotors and different pads on them.

YEs they are the 12.6" rotors. They had more aggressive pads that made more dust so in 2014 they put a slightly larger rotor and less aggressive pad on. The smaller rotors do have internal cooling veins though vs the external entrance veins on the 2014. I’m under the impression the smaller rotors perform better at cooling if you direct air towards them. It seems to me the bigger 13.1" rotors with the external veins would have to get the cooling air from the turbulent air moving past the wheel.

Also there is less weight lol a small amount less weight per rotor.

Do love how you cleaned off the grille on yours. You on focusst.org?
