I always forget how awkward the bed on the slab side Studebaker trucks of this era looked. I found this and actually had to do a google image search to remind myself the bed sides really did stick out past the cab.

That’s because Studebaker sourced their flat-sided beds from Dodge instead of going to the expense of designing their own for only a few hundred or thousand units.

I know, it’s a 60 Dodge Sweptline bed. I just always forget how poor the fit was until I see one again. There used to be one in my area with the older pontoon fender bed. I always thought it looked pretty sharp, but I understand at the time it made it look too old-fashioned.
