Yes, yes, I know, the McLaren 720S is just as powerful as the Ford GT and the Huayra is more of an artisan’s car than a hardcore homologation special, but I don’t think the 812 would cut it and the Aventador S is still a long way from keeping up with the 720S alone, even if both Italians have upwards of 800hp and 4-wheel steering.
It really is just gonna be between the 720S and the Huayra. And I think the Huayra can do it.
Put a lid on it first, though.

The new Ford GT is very impressive, but its pricing puts it in the line of fire of much more powerful rivals.

Secret confession: I never liked the way the Huayra looked. I thought it was hideous and had too many flat surfaces. The only Huayra I liked was one that was all black carbon without any of the outlandish paint jobs Paganis usually get.
With that said, the roadster you posted has me all hot and bothered. That thing is beautiful! I don’t know what it is about that but it flows a lot better. And I almost always prefer cars in coupe form.

I’ve never liked the Huayra either. While I still hate the front end, the Roadster looks fantastic.

This thing set a lap time several seconds faster than the GT at Calabogie Raceway with half the horsepower and probably much less development costs.

West WX-10ST-01a car that raced in the SCCA D-Sports Racer class. It’s regarded as the ultimate in excess for amateur racing, where Level 5 Motorsports did 9-ish months of development at a cost of $1 million in an effort to do a lap of Road America in under 2-minutes (spoiler, it did).
In some ways the car puts many to shame, as mentioned above it set a lap time at Calabogie Raceway several seconds faster than the Ford GT cars Ganassi tested, and at Road America it was hitting 180mph and a lap time faster than the DeltaWing and some LMP2 cars, all with a ~300hp 600cc-ish turbocharged engine.
