On one hand, I am happy that those on the right lost this battle.

On the other hand, that’s not the president France will need at this opint, and may just exacerbate the problem so much, the citizenry will become too desperate and look for a strongman to solve all their problems in one snap, blaming The Other and The Little for the problems the French government solely created.

That’s how ruling works, I realize. You fuck up your citizens in secret, blame it on someone else, kill that someone else to make it seem as if the problem’s gone away forever, but keep fucking up your citizens.

On the other hand making sure that nothing he attempts work won’t for sure work... Whether it comes from the right, left or anything, changing things in France is pretty much impossible, people being way too attached to their “acquis”, no matter how old those were granted. An unreformable country is bound to fail and sadly it’s neither the fault of the right nor is it the fault of the left... At this point, french people are to blame quite a bit. Policies on both sides of the political spectrum have created what is going on today. The country isn’t the same as 30 years ago and economically speaking, sacrifices have to be made. Yet, none will be as the country would be held on lockdown if anyone in an elected position would even attempt to question anything...
