God, that looks like an order of magnitude bigger pain in the ass than driving my F100. Is there a reason he starts in such a low gear?

I’m assuming that it’s just for show, to demonstrate how many shifts truck drivers used to do. There’s so little weight and so much torque he could probably start in 4th or 5th.

Ok, demonstration makes sense but the guy seems to like to do it every time so I was wondering.
