What could I do with these?

Spotted over the fence at my local recycling guys yard whilst out on the treadly. I’ve probably driven/ridden past these things tens of times in the last decade. How have I not spotted them?

I think the chassis & body on the steel pile is a mid 60's CJ-5 (probably one of the Oz variants that ran a six cylinder Ford Falcon engine).

And I originally thought that the wagon was an SJ Jeep from the 60's but now I’m not so sure. However, it could look quite interesting perched on a GQ Nissan Patrol chassis...

Or I could just leave them be...

The wagon is a ‘62 or ‘63 Studebaker Lark. It would probably cost more to restore than it would be worth completed, but maybe a good base for some wilder project.

Aha...thanks....they were assembled in Oz from CKD between 1960 and 1965 and imported until 1968. All V8's too.

You are right about the coin involved...even in Australia where they are rare.

It would be cool to see one with a SRT V8 swap.

Don’t think that’s a CJ5; CJ3 is my guess.

Having done some digging...I concur with the CJ3 identification. It’s the remnant front fender that does it for me...

In hunting around for more info about the Lark, I found one a thousand kilometres away in much better shape (new paint new interior) without an engine (but comes with a small block Chev) that would be a candidate for this sort of tomfoolery. Except Old Mate is looking for AU$15,000...
