This was an old TV inspired by astronaut helmets that sold in the late 60s-early 80s.
How cool is this thing... some came with an alarm clock built into the base.
Video artist Nam June Paik used one for his “TV Buddha” installation in 1976

I had one of these (non-functional), in orange, from my Grandpa. Traded it to an artist friend in college for one of his paintings.
