We have many people here on Oppo that have never been in, or near, the newest Escalade. The days of sticking some Pep Boys chrome trim on a Tahoe LTZ and calling it good are behind us. I hated the first three generations as much as the next guy, but having been in plenty of brand new top-shelf SUVs (and the Lincoln Navigator) the current Escalade, especially in Platinum trim, is right up there.

Not trying to call anyone out, but yeah, it’s a Tahoe in the same way that a Porsche Cayenne is just a VW Touareg. They share architecture, but anyone who’s spent any time with either one can tell you it’s not just stick-on badges.

Yup, they’re very different.

I’ve spent a lot of time with the new Hoe’s, they’re nice. But Escalades are a slightly different breed.

But yeah, pretty much every other Escalade that isn’t the current gen is just a Tahoe LTZ or Denali with different badges and shit.

This new Escalade is quite the luxurious ride. I’m interested to see what the new Navigator brings to the table.

Still eagerly awaiting the Navigator though. If it’s anything like the continental it’ll blow the escalade out the water and that’s saying something because the escalade is great.

Still, if you’re not towing anything then I still think the XC90 is a better choice than either (I’m biased though)

I’d have a hard time choosing between the Caddy and the XC90.

And I’m not sure about that, because I much prefer the CT6 to the Continental.

I’ve seen a few of those new Escalades. Never seen a recent Tahoe though (in Europe). Those Cadillacs look somewhat okay from behind and like a parody of a car from the front. The size is a bit on the absurd side as well, they look like compensation devices. Like one of those frogs or fish that blows itself up to look imposing.

I can see where it would look a bit silly and out-of-place over there.
