I’m 36 and I’ve finally landed an ollie. Yes, I realize this isn’t as gnar as a rolling ollie. No, I don’t care.

I tried a couple switch ollies, too, no surprise that didn’t work. I’m proud of myself, and I’m sore all over. Getting old is fun!

I’m gonna find my old skateboard later today. This is great!

Do it! I didn’t touch my board last year because I was recovering from surgery (and raising kids keeps a man busy) and I missed it a lot. It’s fun to be back on wheels!

I understand the desire to practice your ollies on a soft-ish surface like dirt, but they will be infinitely easier on a slab of concrete. You don’t get the same pop off of your tail, and that makes the overall experience harder.

Also, for those last two tries, try to not open your shoulders to your left. Keep them over the trucks in the same direction. That’s why you turned 90 degrees at the end.

That said, it looks pretty good otherwise. Keep it up! You’ll get there.

Thanks for the tips. I was getting a bit annoyed at constantly turning like that; I’ll pay attention to my shoulders next time.

I’m practising on dirt because I’m too old and wimpy to handle falling down on concrete!
