SiriusXM brought back their “one-hit-wonder” channel that loves to play songs by artists that had more than one hit. It’s driving me to drink.
Look, I know we all wish that Vanilla Ice had been a one-hit-wonder with “Ice Ice Baby”, but he wasn’t. “Play That Funky Music” hit number 4. And “Tenderness” by General Public? THAT WASN’T EVEN THEIR BIGGEST HIT, FOR FUCK SAKE.

Sirius/XM annoys me now. Why is there dj constantly blabbing on faction, and why is there ads on stations. For a subscription that is supposed to be commercial free. I am still annoyed they got rid of bbc radio and a few others...

Or...don’t listen to SiriusXM because it sounds like utter shite.
I had a car that came with a free year of SiriusXM and long before the year ran out I had completely given up on it because the sound quality was so bad. Even Pandora with its pathetic excuse for “high quality” streaming limited to 64 kbps AAC+ in the mobile app sounds 10x better. Spotify is another step wayyy up.

It used to be great, before they merged. Now I only really have it for the NFL package, and I’m not sure I’m going to keep it when my subscription expires in November.

My thoughts on the sound quality go back to 2013. The audio is way too compressed. It sounded pretty damn bad on the Harman Kardon stereo in my BMW 135is. My wife’s 2016 Subaru Impreza came with a few months of free SiriusXM when we bought it a year ago, and the stereo in that car sucks in general, but the SiriusXM sounded awful . I was annoyed when she would listen to it while I was in the car and thankful that when it expired, she was totally happy with using Pandora instead.

Their “limited engagement” channels are usually still available. They’re hiding in the 300s. That’s where “hall of fame radio,” “yacht rock,” “one hit wonders,” and some others sat.

Yeah. It sounds so bad that I thought that I had blown a speaker. When I went back to terrestrial radio and pandora, the buzz went away.
