191k Australian is €129k for a year old M5. Depending on gas guzzler/emissions taxation where you live that’s either rather steep or not all that bad. It certainly wouldn’t have bought a new one of the recently discontinued previous gen M5 in my native the Netherlands, although the pre-tax price was ‘only’ €85.5k. We had to fork over almost €18k in VAT and an additional €44k in emission/gas guzzler taxation for a 2017 M5, resulting in a total price of roughly €147k.

I wonder if somebody could successfully purchase the car then make a stink and sue that the price is listed incorrectly on the window sticker and that they want that price :P

when cars are first imported into Oz we have a “Luxury Car Tax” which kicks in at $55K-ish dollars any thing over that gets hit with an extra 33% tax.

That’s in the Netherlands. A new M5 Competition starts at 99,999€ but the comparison is not fair since the F10 M5 can’t be ordered anymore.

Just the Netherlands. And just the M5. VAT is obviously simply a percentage, emissions taxes are based on emissions. A cleaner car obviously isn’t slapped with those outrageous taxes. We are talking about an M5 here.

Last time I was at the BMW dealer, a new M3 was over $120,000 Canadian.
I don’t care how good they are, they aren’t worth the price. Not even close.
I much prefer the lower price of zero. Maybe split the difference, stack some incentives, extend that warranty, and then we’ll talk.
