I always like hearing that an ex is doing a little worse since I’ve moved on from them, but I’d still take this one back.

He’s asking the price he bought it for, so that’s pretty fair...although it didn’t need a clutch when I sold it. It’s a pretty solid car, even if the last year or so hasn’t been particularly kind to it.

Needs a clutch huh... $1000 seems like a fair price.

I just traced down my old G6 to a new owner, just got a new emissions test. Still somewhere in the Simcoe County area.

The new emissions free test check makes this really easy.

I wouldn’t call it solid. That’s a lot of rust repair. No way I’d take that on (unless I knew how to weld AND had no kid).

I’d hand him $1000 for it tomorrow and tell my wife she’ll get her mother’s day festivities next week. It would not go over well.

I used to work near Boston, in Avon. That commute got old pretty quick.

I actually just noticed that he said the strut tower needs repair...he must have been beating the shit out of this thing, because that was one of the high points when I had it. He’ll be lucky to get $1500.

Is it just me or are Fox prices starting to climb a bit? I don’t pay attention enough to really notice but I do toss around the idea of a muscle car every so often and when I took a look quickly it seems like the ones you want(V8+manual) aren’t really very cheap

Probably are, especially stockers, since there’s very few left that haven’t been wrecked or modified.

I actually just went and looked at Dad’s ‘95 F-150. Much worse than it was, but I still wanted it. Dad said no, but told me to tell them that if it doesn’t sell and they have to scrap it, I can beat the scrapyard’s offer. So at least there’s that.

Even the ratty questionably modified ones weren’t dirt cheap. Decent ones seem to be cresting $5 grand and...idk I feel like you could do a lot better for the money at that point

I love Foxbodys (Foxbodies?), so to me, there’s not much better.

The problem is, just like the 60s cars, since good ones have value, every jackass with a rusty turd thinks his junk is worth just as much.

I like a Fox Body, but I wouldn’t pay a lot of money. Basic, no frills, V8 in the front, rear-wheel-drive in the back, great. Not being cheap kinda ruins it because the no-frills-ness of it is part of what makes it fun but it also means it just feels wrong expensive.

Valid point. Since my grandfather got his before I was born (July 22, 1993 is when he bought it- I was born 8/6/99) price never factored into my love of them.

Yeah nice ones are heading up. It’s kinda like the 60s muscle cars...guys that had Foxes for their first cars have money now, so they’re getting nostalgic and going out to pay lots of money for nice ones. I’ve had five of them, they’re junk, but they’re fun junk.

Yeah, exactly! I’d be all about it if I was looking at 3 grand for a good one but I can find better things to do with 6

Totally. Thinking back on mine, I paid $2000, $1000, $500, $6000, and $1500 for them. The $6000 one was an outlier because it was this:

That car is probably one of those $10000 Foxes now, it was soooooo nice. But I wouldn’t pay $6000 for it now like I did then.

Didn’t you own this before the truck which was before the Cruiser?

Yup. I had it while I had the Crown Vic, which was before the F250. He dropped the price to $2000, but apparently it’s kinda gone to shit since I sold it.
