10 Days Until Oppo Rally

We’re less than two weeks out and the final items are falling into place. Trophies and prizes have arrived, the sticker order is in, checkpoints have been finalized, and reservations have been made for our end-of-rally check-in location. Pretty much all that’s left is printing up copies of all the necessary paperwork.

This post was written a few days ago because I’m currently in Ohio either harassing Chris Clarke/Arch Duck or getting ready to do recce tomorrow morning.

Who’s excited??? Just ten days to go and we’ve hit the 25 car mark! What was the 25th car? The answer is Miata. Chuckles, you no longer need to worry about being left to represent Miata on your own. And how about Pixel’s mad Roadkill-style thrash to get his truck to the point where it actually has four wheels and an engine? Then there’s the mystery of the “British Orwagon” on the entry list. What will it end up being? British? Wagon? A British wagon? Or is he playing us all and it’ll end up being a Daihatsu Charade ? So much good stuff! Speaking of, keep an eye out once we hit the seven-day mark. I’ll be revealing the details of the game and how those of you stuck at home can participate.

If you’ve sent in a registration email you should have received a welcome/preliminary info letter. If you haven’t received it yet please let me know in the comments. It’s possible either my filter has eaten your email or yours has eaten the welcome letter. Either way that’s information you need.

If you haven’t registered for Oppo Rally (why not, yo?) here’s how to do so. Entries will be open until the day before the rally, but if you want to guarantee yourself one of those sweet, sweet stickers then you need to get your entry in no later than May 10.

If you’re pretty sure you’ll be at the rally (say above 75%) but haven’t registered yet because you’re not completely certain (or don’t know what you’ll be driving), I suggest putting in an entry anyway to ensure you get the information that has been emailed to registrants. It includes details that are helpful/necessary for planning (such as start/finish time and address). Registration is free, as mentioned, the listed vehicle can be changed/added any time, and there’s no penalty if you have to withdraw.

And don’t forget Oppomeet On The Mountain for the Mt Washington Hillclimb in July! Still looking to get a group together to partake in the House Of Oppo.

I am jealous of people who have time to go on these things, or are in an area where it happens and I wish the Z could have a cool rally sticker... sigh
