My first carbureted classic. I was 20 at the time. it had a 283, powerglide and it was TEAL, baby! Only had it for a few months in the summer but wow it was cool. Older me probably wouldn’t have driven very far on the old 1980's bias plies but younger me was a braver soul. Sadly, it got sold to a kid who donked it and the car is pretty much ruined now. :(

Also has anyone ever told you that you look like Travis Pastrana?

I dig it, nice color, too.
Sad to read what happened to it.
Have a teal Bel Air:

I adore that car. Teal is just so good on a big Yank tank. Yeah I learned my lesson about buyers with that car. I’m a lot more conscious of who I sell to now. How’s the old Chevy driving with the new floors?

I have yet to finish it, I was caught in some other activities. I discovered that my new headliner was stained and torn, so I had to quickly find a new new headliner. I did the insulation and mocked up the carpet. I plan to finish it tomorrow. I’ll update my post with new pictures when done

Oh god, I love it. It needs a 502 big block with a roots blower and hillborn stacks.

That car and I were born in the same year. Fortunately, I have not been donked. Though I may have bonked. I remember when you posted about it before. Absolutely love the color. Get a haircut and stay off my lawn.

Too bad it wasn’t a manual - that probably wouldn’t have happened since the kid wouldn’t be able to drive it.

Ah, the blissful ignorance of youth :)

Looking back, that was pretty dangerous.

Who among us didn’t do some really dumb dangerous stuff when we were kid?. I was a pretty mature kid, and compared to a lot of my friends was really tame, but still ... I got away with some incredibly dumb stuff, things I wouldn’t even consider doing today.
