Could an F-150 of this gen comfortably fit four six foot adults?

Picture from Google, you get the idea.

Quad cabs aren’t really great for space in the rear

an F-150 of that gen can, if it’s a crew cab :p

Or if it has a front bench seat and they’re all skinny

Not for the two folks in the back seat. Extended cab back seats usually are not great places to spend time for folks much over 10 or 11 years old. Short of a full crew cab, the dodge “quad” cabs of that era were probably the biggest of the extended cab truck back seats.

Depends. Do they have legs?

I’ve “fit” 4 full size adults in my extended cab Silverado. Would not recommend for trips longer than 10-15 minutes max.

If you hate them, yes.

Otherwise, no.

How much do you like these adults?

You need to get the full 4-doors

15 years ago, yes. Today, no. Our ideas of size and comfort have changed. I remember putting people in the back of my 1993 Ford Ranger’s tiny jump seats, not a single complaint was spoken. Still have that truck, I tried putting a couple of teenagers back there recently and they said no way could they sit back there.

My 2000 F150 XLT Supercab, the back seats was considered almost specious when it was new. Now, it’s too cramped for your average adult.

No supercab will fit tall people in the back. The Crew Cab definitely will.

In that price range, a used Tahoe, Suburban or Expedition probably gets you the most 1/2 ton truck capability for the money that also seats four adults comfortably for significant amounts of time. The 2nd gen Durangos are also out there pretty cheap if you can get by with slightly less than full-sized half ton truck capability.

The crew-cab 1/2 ton trucks are tremendously good at doing both truck stuff, and moving around full size people in comfort. The problem is that everyone and their mother wants one, so their used prices reflect that demand.

A crew cab, yes. Extended cab like that, no.

For how long? I rode in the back of an earlier one on a 45 minute trip and didn’t die, but I would hardly call it comfortable.

So short answer, no.

You’d be better off having an old Tacoma extended cab, at least the the rear passengers can have fun kicking each other in the face

. Me and my best friend actually did this on a 6 hour round trip. We got very comfortable with being in eachother’s “bubble” that day.

Unless you like you knees shoved into the dash and wheel 3 inches from your chest, no, would not recommend.

I think you’ll manage. Won’t exactly be fun for the rear seat occupants, but there’s room back there. I had a rear facing car seat in a double cab F250 and my wife could still ride in the front, the car seat took up a ton of space.

Honestly it isn’t that bad. My father had an F150 of the same generation, in the same configuration and I could sit behind him fairly comfortably. He’s 6'4 and I’m 6'1. There’s a surprising amount of room, even in just the extended cab.

Exactly. My S-10 hauled like twelve people around in college. Remarkably, nobody ever hurled in it.

In a crew cab, very comfortably. As long as none of those adults are like me and have backs that don’t like Ford seats.

I’m not joking about that, either... more than about half an hour and I have to start shoving water bottles behind my back. Not enough lumbar I guess.

No. Go 4 door. I know I’m coming in late to your discussions but I’m really pleased with mine. It’s solid, good pep for a 5.0 and if you can get past the plastics on the dash and doors it will do its job
