I’m noticing when I save drafts and then publish, it posts on Oppo as if I published it when I started the draft. For instance I just published this post , and it says 50 minutes ago?

Whats tha deal?

Kinja is being kinja today. Links aren’t showing half the time either, and require a page refresh to display correctly.

Par for the course.

I have noticed that problem since I started writing here years ago. I just change the date and time and republish.

Yea the link thing has been going on forever. I just add a picture whenever I post a link so people can see part of the post while they wait for kinja to pull its head out of its ass.

I have noticed this in the past. Between publishing posts days in the past and saves not always working, I try to write things in gdocs or notepad then copy into kinja, because kinja will kinja the heck out of itself.

That’s normal. You have to reset the timestamp or it will keep the same time as when you first started to compose the post.

I think it has to save a time when you save the draft, so it goes with the current time as of saving the draft.

However, if you click on the time, and reset it when you next edit it, it’ll remove the time until you save again or publish.

Worked like a charm, thanks! I never even noticed that the time could be changed.

Careful though - I updated an older post a couple days ago and when it didn’t show up I had to go look - in the date field I typed ‘2017' for the year, it decided ‘20' was all it needed so the post was all set to go live in May 2020. Thanks Kinja!

I have never had any luck with Drafts. When I write my This Date in Aviation History posts, I don’t use drafts, but I still write weeks in advance. Instead, when I compose the post, I pick the future post date and time when I want the post to go live. You can do the same thing with any post you want to work on. Just set the date to well after you want it to actually post, then publish in the future to save it. To edit or keep working in it, you can access the post through your “Manage Tripper” link (click Tripper from the drop down menu, then click Manage Tripper from the drop down menu; then bookmark that for future one-click access). When you are ready to post, select the post on Manage Tripper, click to edit it, then change the post date to today with a slightly later time (or the date and time you want it to post).
