Broken pop up lights are dumb. Sealed beam lights are dumb. Vacuum powered pop ups are cool as hell but still dumb. But modern lamp enclosures run by simple, reliable, modern electric motors; that would be the shit! Pedestrians, wind noise, and gas mileage be damned. Aerodynamics? This aint a plane, its a car!

Oh I know that for sure. I kind of chuckled when I wrote that because of how absurd that sounded. The only practical way to have popup headlights be a thing still are recessed lights that just open and close the lens like a camera shutter.
