Kinja'd!!!

It’s a pair of centerline billet wheels (skinny fronts only)

Kinja'd!!!

and a ridiculous scoop away from nearly every car show I remember as a child.

Man, those wheels were on every 3rd gen Camaro for a while. They’re like Pro Stars on Fox Bodies.

Had a friend who was proud of his “Shaved” Bronco. I never understood the term no matter what was shown or discussed.

Door handles are removed and replaced with a hidden latch or button.

I don’t get it either

Shaved (Frenched) the handles on the ‘55 F100 rod. Since the gas tank was relocated under the bed, the original filler neck was left intact and secured with a lockable gas cap. Behind that cap was a manual door pull in case a battery died.

It was also peach with ghost flames, cherry wood bed floor, a 5.0 “HO” from a ‘91 F-150, and interior made primarily from Windstar and 3rd-gen Firebird components. It was a multiple winner in the shows. I miss that truck.

Call me Tacky, but I totally miss this trend.

It was just adding issues. I don’t get it...

Shaved it from your inventory?

As long as they don’t have those awful wheels I’d rock one. Pro-street trucks are sweet!

I would buy a clean Ford Ranger Splash tomorrow if I could ever find one.

But would you then tub out the rear, drop in a big-block, and add those ridiculous Centerline billet wheels to the tune of 14" wide in the rear?

No?

Good.

(I’m too big for a single-cab Ranger as an every day vehicle but I’d love to find an extended cab 6cylinder/5m 2wd as a beater truck.)

When I bought a car in 2003, the 2.7L 5-speed 2wd Tacoma Access Cab was at the top of my list. The lower version, not the PreRunner. It was a great truck to drive around.

I miss a few things but not all. The billet wheels can see a dumpster next to cry baby dolls at a show but other wise the pro street look is cool

Did you have a kick and pull setup or where the buttons hidden where you pressed with your hand? Our 56 Chevy kustom has the button mounted in the corner of the window chrome.

Steve, it’s too bad I didn’t have the chance to sell you my Ranger in 2011. It would have been everything you want.

The doors were on solenoids - press a button on the key fob, solenoid actuates and pops the door open. No physical access whatsoever, save the manual pull under the gas cap

Years ago. Completed the build in 1998 IIRC and sold in 2000. Since then it’s been hard to keep track of - last pic I saw I think it was repainted. Still peach but I couldn’t see the ghost flame outlines.

Ah you had one of the new style systems. Our 56 had the handles shaved in 1958, you used starter solenoids off a 55/56 Chevy starter in the door then it’s wired to a 49/50 ford starter button to pop the door. They are mounted in the windshield corner trim, so no fob setup.

Yep, new style. It’s why we had a Windstar-based interior; the door-lock parameter in the computer was piggybacked to the solenoids. Unlock button for driver door, lock button for passenger. It was weird but it worked.

Only reason that trend is gone is that there are no more mini trucks.

I have a huge soft spots for square body S-10's. It was the first car I learned how to drive stick on.
