There’s a decent probability that the design was revised due to a high percentage of these breaking just like yours under warranty. Does the revised one shield the intended area/parts?

Looks like they traded aero for durability. Unrelated, but this is probably the best angle and composition I’ve ever seen in a Juke pic. :P

Interesting - I always thought the little floppy guard that “protected” the oil filter on the 04 Altima my wife used to have was pretty pitiful... Maybe a Nissan trend.
