I drove one of these (the South American version) a couple of years ago. What a piece of junk. I think most American car people don’t realize that we already get all of the good European cars in this market (aside from particular body styles e.g. wagons.)
The cheap European cars are, shall I say, not that good. As in “I would take a Versa over any of them.” And I hate the Versa.

There are plenty of good stuff the US doesn’t get. Dacias, super cheap Romenian cars, are the exception, not the rule.

While the European Dacias aren’t much to write home about, the cars for South America and other second/third world countries are considerably worse. As in way less (safety) equipment, and apparently less welding spots and strenghtening beams, which explains the poor crash test ratings that would automatically ban them from the Euro market.
