I need an ultrawide monitor mounted above my current monitors for a sweet three monitor setup.
Currently I have two 27" monitors (Black Friday FTW!) but apparently in this fast-paced Capitalist utopia, that isn’t enough. The 32-33" span of a 21:9 ultrawide monitor will fit perfectly above my two monitors.

But as a whole, that’s 8:3, which is kinda weird.

I love these, but can’t justify them most of the time.
Also: Modern, large, 4K and near-4K monitors are getting reasonably cheap now, so the display arrays are not as necessary. I still run a three-1K/FHD monitor setup on my desk at work, but that’s because they don’t want to spend any money they don’t have to.

Final form involves a bunch of crappy old 17" (or maybe 19"?) 1280x1024 displays? I think I’ll pass.

Two weeks ago I picked up this LG 29" that Best buy had on sale for $250. With a 10% coupon I got it for $225. The following week when I saw it for $350, I was like:

Oppo=off topic blog. That’s on topic a lot of the time. Though who is to say what the topic is now that we no longer have jalopnik in the URL.

Just make sure it’s 3440 x 1440. Some companies actually sell 34" Ultrawide monitors but with a pathetic 2560 x 1080 resolution.

No idea. I grabbed a sales photo, and those are notoriously over used for disparate things.

I’ve been using an ultrawide for a year and a half in my personal setup.
If space is at a premium, I think that’s the way to go since you can get really wide screen gaming done without a multi monitor setup.
Multiple windows also works really well with an ultrawide, but some games wont support it without mods *cough* Fallout 4 *cough*.
