It’s clean as hell, and honestly I think you could get more than 3250 despite the mileage.

If you were local I’d probably buy it tonight and VIP it as a daily. Sadly I am not.

I’d say you put a fair/almost too low price for the mileage. You shouldn’t have any problems getting buyers.

Where are you at? I might be able to drive it some distance, but nothing overnight.

to be fair, the sunroof is sealed and it has lights on for a bad ABS module. So the price is fair considering the faults. Maybe a tad high, but that was including buffer for negotiations.

Such is life. Good luck with the sale. What do you have in the works after the GS300 is gone?

Shit that looks nice for $3250, and the mileage.

Trying to think if anyone I know is in the market.

Kinja'd!!!

My parents sold a 2000?! 400 about a year ago. They still miss it. Was clean as hell, well taken care of and only about 120k miles on it. Think they got 6-7k but like I said it was a really nice example with a huge binder of every service record. Yours looks really clean for that price you should do very well. Best of luck!

I’ve been lusting after a GS for a while, but my wife has instituted a firm less-than-10-years-old and fewer-than-100K-miles rule for my future car purchases (of course she dailies our 2016 CX-5 GT, so she lacks perspective). I’m also not far from you (short Amtrak ride from StL), so were I in the market, I’d offer low-$2Ks and probably meet high-$2Ks, at most, especially knowing about the ABS module and sunroof. Also, is that a true-black body, or that dark greenish-blue they had?

Hope you sell it fast. I would also change the condition from “excellent”. Anything with that many miles, unless freshly and fully restored, especially with outstanding issues, cannot be “excellent”.

Its true black, but I wouldn’t sell for a dime less than $3000. I’ve done to much work to sell for less, I’d rather keep it then get shortchanged. Also on Craigslist’s rating scale, excellent is before average, but worse than like-new. So I think it’s a fair assessment.

I’ve got a friend in that area who’s looking for a car in that price range. I sent him the link and he likes it, he’s gonna run it by his family.

If he mentions me referring you just pretend you recognize the name or something ;)

Ok sounds good! Just an FYI for him, he’s more likely to get a quick response from texting or emailing, I’ve got work most days and can’t regularly answer the phone.

I’m just curious, what general area is he from?

I’m willing to learn but my parents would have to be able to drive it so no manual. It’ll be entirely mine but I’m still respectful of their decisions and it really isn’t a big deal to me.

Understood. I was the same way with my Volvo: Wouldn’t take less than $3K, and I got it sooner than expected.

Maybe CL has changed their rankings. I’m used to KBB/Ebay-like rankings, going from “Like New”, to “Excellent”, “Very Good”, “Good”, “Fair”, “Poor”, then “Salvage/Parts/Scrap”.

I’d disclose in the ad what you know to be wrong with it (bad ABS module, sunroof sealed), particularly if you classify the condition as excellent. But that’s just me.

Understandable, I just feel that if I tell all that people will be scared away for little reason. I may change the condition, that’s been a sticking point for some of y’all.

Its just that most of the reason for me selling the GS is to get something newer and with lower miles, which the LS would only be about 3-4 years newer and have 80k less miles. I’m trying to get 7+ years newer, as well as 100k fewer miles.

That’s my only sticking point with the LS.

I don’t see how it matters if the mileage dosent really affect reliability and age dosent affect safety much because it was built to be top of the line. But it’s your money and it makes since to just get something smart like an es or Camry.

Kinja'd!!! "dtg11 - is probably on an adventure with Clifford" (dtg11)

No that’s not really what matters, it’s more wear and age that are concerns. The older it is the more likely sensors will go bad, rubber will crack, etc.
