Fine enough to post. I’m a pretty safe driver and had the sense to swerve away from the other person. Seat belt and air bag did their thing which means I’m alive and very sore.

Someone made a left turn in front of me on a straight stretch of 60mph road. Police wrote it up as a hit and run apparently. I’m fine and sore. Getting discharged already.

Oh yea. It’s gone. Looking at other photos i may not buy it back. The interior is in good shape but tired after 200k miles.

During times like these I try to remind myself that the stress and frustration, no matter how intense, are only temporary. Like others have said it looks totaled, so perhaps there is an interesting vehicle in your future after the insurance payout.

Yea, I keep a pretty good outlook anyways. Safety matters more and more to me as I get older. This is my 3rd not at fault accident that I was in a Honda. I may not get another one but hey sure do the job.

I’d steer clear of buying that one back. I’m willing to bet the right front framerail has some substantial movement (requiring replacement, not just a pull), as well as the left via the front reinforcement.

I wouldn’t fix the car, just pull parts and sell them individually. Closer looks at the photos I took makes me think one of the pulleys was bent a funny direction.

I’ve always bought used. I like the idea of a brand new car, but buying something that loses so much value the second you drive away doesn’t make much sense to me (logically!) when I can get something only a year or a few years old with all the features I need and low kms for much cheaper.

Agreed. I’ve had around 18 cars and I think I purchased 2 new (and probably won’t again). This time around I’ve been looking at stuff that has hit the bottom of the depreciation curve.

I want a panamera but that’s probably not in the cards this year. Seriously considering an e90 or e39 M. I don’t drive my car much (like 3000 a year) and have been working on cars for years so reliability isn’t my biggest worry bead.

I had hopes to buy it back and sell off parts but some of the photos look like the engine may have been pushed back and bent a few pulleys. I’ll check it out today just in case before it heads to the adjuster.

The (very small and tiny) upside is you can go to masseuses and chiropractors because it’s the other guy’s fault.
