illinois just redid the background of their license plates but now they have to change the ink because as it stands the first character is hard to read due to lincolns face

Ah, my bad. Went and read a news article on the new plates. Turns out they left the border design alone, just added an extra character.
Here in Washington I keep an eye open for six-character plates since we went to seven characters around 2010 or 2011.
