The 90th anniversary of Charles Lindbergh’s solo flight across the Atlantic is coming up on May 20, and the San Diego Union-Tribune recently uncovered a trove of unpublished photos taken in 1927 when Lindbergh received the
Spirit of St. Louis
from the Ryan Aircraft Company of San Diego. Lindbergh made the maiden flight of the
Spirit
in San Diego on April 28, only three weeks before he flew it from New York to Paris.
