They pop out of the drywall. I am installing some insulation on the ceiling and the drywall in the middle was sagging. I’m lucky it didn’t take the whole piece down. Almost finished, I need to start cutting full size pieces down.

i decided to line up strings along where the studs are so I won’t have to guess later down the road. Needs more lights. The ceiling is now mostly a silver for light reflection.

I used screws with fender washers to help put it back up, the builder of the house used nails. There are a couple other nails around the house that have poped out.

Those shiny foam board insulation panels are great. My family had them mounted over the fiberglass insulation in one of our houses, and in addition to making things more energy efficient and helping keep the attic bright, they had the very real benefit of protecting your head from whatever random nails were hanging down.

I guess nails might be okay for walls, but ceilings? Forget it.

I’ve never once seen nails used for drywall.

Sucks you’re stuck with that mess.

Drywall is bad, buildings should be made out of bricks and cement. Plaster is for broken limbs and mouldings.

Is your house older than it looks? I’ve never seen drywall nails used in a house built in my lifetime.

And yeah, they do suck. Hard.

In the Midwest at least, nearly every house built from post-WWII used drywall nails. Hateful terrible little things.

Those are the cocksuckers that built the homes in my subdivision. This was in ‘05 when they couldn’t build them fast enough to keep up with the market. Premier my ass.

That sucks. My suffering was caused by old ass house with shitty additions. They patched a hole where a window was with drywall in a plaster wall. Then there’s the rusty nailhead shitshow in the bathroom. Fuck cheap asses.
