Kinja'd!!!

Looking good.

Kinja'd!!!

Looks great, really.

Kinja'd!!!

Everything looks in order...

OH COME ON! You took it this far! You built a really great looking C Type replica, and you lumped it!

Apparently it’s an automatic, too. Who the shit builds a replica of an all time great racing car and sticks a generic SBC under the hood? I’m not going to talk smack about the tranny, maybe the dude has a bad knee, but come on. It’s a Jaguar. Let it be a Jaguar.

Isn’t this the best part about replicas though? You can have a beautiful, expensive looking car while having something cheap(and sometimes modern) under the hood to work on.

With an edelbrock triangle of death no less.

The sbc doesn’t bother me but the automatic and that air cleaner do.

If it was a cheaper replica I’d probably be with you, but he’s asking almost $40k for it.

Assuming there’s no health reason, then the automatic is really stupid. Jaguars with American engines is a pet peeve of mine...I can almost forgive somebody when it’s a v12 car, I had one, they’re a handful, but a Jag inline six is a pretty easy engine to work with.

Many non hand crafted replicas go for that price anymore. The question is is his fiberglass or metal?

The automatic is usually because they are much easier to hook up than a manual. It does seem odd someone would go through all that work just for someone to not put a jag engine in it.
