Kinja'd!!!

I really hated how the push handle spoiler ended up so I decided to totally redo the setup and go back to the pull rope.

I started by adding a front splitter.

Kinja'd!!!

Then I chopped off about 14" out of the spoiler supports and fully redesigned the actual spoiler to something that looks way more like a time attack car.

Kinja'd!!!

After a bit of paint (and I can’t recommend high heat BBQ paint enough. The stuff dries in literaly 2 mins and really saves a HUGE amount of time. I buy the cheap armor coat brand for $4 bucks a can) the car is done for tonight.

Kinja'd!!!

A couple of better shots of the end result.

Kinja'd!!!

Totally worth staying up until 2am. Gotta love the dad life. The only time I have for myself is when everyone else is asleep

If I ever bring kids into this world, this is how I want them to grow up. Bravo sir.

Wouldn’t take much to add some underglow and a small battery pack. Kids love lights. Hell give em a button to control it themselves too.

Either way great work and looks awesome. Love how the wing has similar curvature to match the rest of the car.

Yes, high temp bbq paint is the shit. Not only is it easy but it is durable.

I think you should paint the roof and A pillars black as well. BBQ paint probably is not the solution for that though. Probably plasti-dip or something made for plastics.

That’s awesome. I’ll have to consider something similar if we ever pick up a cozy coupe.

It’s all great until they become teenagers who don’t go to sleep at 8:00. Then they start encroaching on mom/dad alone time.

I love it man! I customized one of these cozy coupes back when my son was still a little guy, but not to this extreme. I honestly didn’t do much more than paint it and give it a custom exhaust. Which was just some 1" pipe painted silver stuck into some strategically drilled holes below the rear bumper.

But now my kids are way too big for these and my next project is probably going to either be a chopper bike for my son, or a lifted Radio Flyer wagon, as a counterpoint to our current rat rod Radio Flyer.

Yeah my son is currently only 15 months and his favorite thing in this world other than moms boobs is this cozy coupe so I’m pretty much pulling all the stops. I just love how easy it is to make some thing cool out of them.

I also just picked up this sweet bike for $6 bucks that I’ll be fixing up for him in a few years with longer sissy bars and bigger ape hangers. And probably a custom paint job.

Omg that’s the best cozy coupe I’ve ever seen. Great job!

Nice! Yeah I built myself a chopper bike years ago and I have just been waiting for my son to be old enough that I could build him one too. He’s 8 now and ideally if I build it for the size/age he is now he will be able to use it for a while and around the time he outgrows it I will also be able to let my girls use it... although probably with a paint job refresh to something a bit pinker.

Just for grins this is my bike...

Cool chopper. Is that rear tire a car tire? What size?

Thanks man. Yeah it’s actually a truck tire, and it’s a 30x9.5, BFG A-T... and let me tell you it’s one heavy some bitch. I’ve thought about re-doing the bike, ditching the military theme and going with something like a 22" low profile tire to replace that one. Because right now the back wheel alone weighs something like 75 lbs.

Of 75 lbs.! Wow. You could keep the look (if you wanted) and replace it with a rambler style motorcycle tire. I have to think that would be significantly lighter & therefore make it more responsive (pulling away from a stop especially) for riding

Yep, part of that is the tire, but the actual rear wheel is made out of an old steel car rim so it’s not exactly light either. It’s definitely not made to be quick. Taking off usually requires a little push start to get it going. Then once you actually get it rolling, it’s surprisingly not bad to ride. But taking it up any kind of incline or hill is pretty much out of the question. For it’s intended purpose (beach crusing) it’s just about the baddest thing out there though.
