That’s what’s so annoying about VW these days (other than the cursed Jetta they built and thrust upon JKM). Too damn expensive for the “people’s car.” Audi is supposed to be upscale VW. Instead, they want VW to be closer to an Audi than a Toyota in hierarchy.

I have those seats. Can attest that they are indeed awesome chairs to drive in.

Can relate... I admire new cars, and always thought someday I could afford one. Well, the Mrs. and I broke well past the 6-digit income mark last year and I celebrated by buying an 18 year old $2,600 Suburban. Plaid seats rule, but so does financial security and property ownership.

Well, my wife’s immaculate 2011 mk6 GTI autobahn 4 door is coming on market this year. 66k miles on it. Only 5k miles since moving here in 2015.
We are thinking about getting a 2018 golf r for her to drive around Queen Anne, to the Whole Foods in interbay; and to putt putt the baby around to play dates and library reading times. Then In another 6-7 years, we will have another gently used golf, probably a barely touched golf r with under 30k miles.
