Kinja'd!!!

There are times when you gaze upon your significant other and you think “I’ve done well”. I frequently have those moments with my beautiful girlfriend, but today was the first day I had one with my Mazda 3. It’s surprising since it’s my daily, that I bought to sip gas and be comfortable in while my Honda S2000 relaxes in the garage.

Anyway, as I was exiting my local Walmart, caught glimpse of how good looking the Mazda 3 is.

Does this ever happen to you all? Feel free to post photos which made you fall back in love with your car.

Bonus shots of the Mazda and Honda:

I won’t say it’s a “GREAT” car, but it sure is fun when you want it to be.

Making me miss my SS AP2. When I bought it, I really wanted a grey one, but settled on a clean silver one because it was local. Now I think it looks the best.

Is that a Q45? That car holds a special place in my heart. My dad had one that he bought used in the mid 1990s. It was unreliable and he sold it a few years later. He bought another in the early 2000s and it was also unreliable.

I remember talking cars with him a few weeks before he died and I asked him what car would he buy again.

Without any hesitation he said the Q45.

I left work last week, and instead of making the 8 mile drive straight home, I took the 70 mile scenic route on mostly roads that were new to me. Pretty much any time the top is down and I’m going around a corner I manage to fall back in love with this car. It’s my therapy.

So easy to do in a Miata. I miss mine.

It’s been happening a lot since the fuel starvation issue was fixed in the GVR4. Before that I hated the car, but know that I can actually enjoy it I smile every time I see it.

Wild. This thing has actually been a stereotypical Japanese car - no maintenance in 2 years other than wear items, which are all pathfinder parts. The only issue is the A/C which died over the winter. I can see why your dad would give you that answer, this thing isn’t very fast but I love the way it looks, and it oozes character.

I bought it as a second car when there was a brief window of time where I had the money and nobody around to tell me not to do it. It’s paid itself off many times over in terms of the happiness it has brought me.

I did the same with my 95, it ended up becoming my daily because I loved it so much. I will buy another at some point!

Mine is a 94 (hooray for 1.8L NA Miatas!). I split the driving between that and my Civic about 50/50.

For us, those early Q45s were fast. It was so smooth that you would get on an on-ramp and you would not notice that you were doing 110mph by the time you merged.

As much as this thing has frustrated me in the past few months, when I park it after a long back road drive it makes me so happy.

Yep there’s absolutely no difference between 70 and 110, it’s dangerous. I know that feeling, passing a semi can mean accidental triple digits. And yea within the context of the nineties, they were definitely quick. 3k-5k in second is a lot of fun, and first will roast the tires pretty good.

I do this a lot. I do the whole “stare as you walk away” thing, too. I adore the design of this car.
