Kinja'd!!!

What do you automatically scroll past on the front page? Mine are headlines including the words: Uber, Autonomous, NASCAR, Ride-hailing, Ride-sharing, and probably a few others.

Headlights are in wrong spot on Baja. It needs the oil cooler on the roof too.

Same thing for me, as well.
I also scroll past all the Military stuff, motorbicycles and politics.

So I mostly stop for Jason’s weird ideas or new cars.

Non-tech/design articles on Gizmodo.

I mean, I am actually interested in environmental news, and oh God what did Trump do now ... But that’s just not what I come to Gizmodo for. Can’t they just post it on the appropriate blog, like Fusion or something, where people who are looking for that kind of news can find it? I dunno, it’s been happening more and more often lately, to the point where it feels like they’re doing it intentionally.

Yeah, it’s almost like there’s a quota or something.

Military (unless there’s a clear and interesting political angle), motorcycles, supercars, topgear, anything from ‘deals’, lease/finance, ‘now is the time to buy new x’, drag/Nascar, 400+ HP, F1, trucks. I’ll skip them all.

I came here for the cult of cars. That’s what I’m looking for still. Slow car fast, diy, oddball and ‘older car’. That’s what I’m looking for.

Quotas are fine, but they’re filling it with off-topic posts, like they don’t want to write about tech stuff anymore. Maybe it’s fallout from the whole Gawker thing. It’s like Taco Bell went out of business and all the cooks went to work for KFC, except all they cook is burritos. (I like burritos, but that’s not what I want when I go to KFC.)

I’m about to start searching elsewhere for tech news; maybe I’ll start visiting Wired or TechCrunch more often. Too bad I can’t comment on those articles through the same Kinja.

ANYTHING political. Environmentalism type post. Electric cars. Autonomous cars.
