Almost got a ticket having too much fun reviewing a nearly 1000 HP Cadillac CTS V.

Kinja'd!!!

I got to drive a CTS V, but not any one, a highly modded one with nearly a 1000 HP.

The upgrades really made a big difference power wise. The stock suspension of this car, and the steering made for one of the best sedans I have driven in my life.

The entire review is below including all the various pulls I did to see how fast this car was (hint... you’ll just have to see how insanely fast):

CTS V, w/ almost 1000 HP, not your Father’s Cadillac? Epic drive review

Let me know- what doyou think of the car?

Lastly, as always star/reccomend, share, and comment to let me know you enjoyed.

Let me know what you guys think of the CTS. It’s as good as any German for sure.

I wouldn’t need 900+ horsepower, but the CTS-V would be my first choice if I could afford serious wheels. I would be curious to know how the drive trains are holding up on the ones that have been on the road a few years already.

…a lot worse.

I still like it though.

worse in what way, styling, fit and finish (if you watched the video it’s getting close)? I can say, having driven and reviewed most al the German competitors handling wise, it’s pretty damn impressive.

Sunny place, you could make that argument for sure.

ya honestly the power was a bit much unless you drag often, as they are still very fast stock. The drive trains on the modified ones? For the stock ones you get a “6-year/70,000-mile 1   Transferable Powertrain Limited Warranty with no deductible for 2013 and newer models.”

I wasn’t thinking about the modified, but the stock. Those must be well north of 400 HP. I was thinking about how the 300-hp high-feature V6 on the Impalas liked to dine on their timing chains and I was just wondering how the CTS-V drive train is holding up in general.

Yep, to be fair, this is a huge improvement over the last two gens.

Cadillac have mastered good driving dynamics as of late. You’ve definitely showcased that too. It’s not what’s bothering me though.

It’s all well and good being a performance car, but to be competitive - it needs to be a good luxury car too. Fit and finish is getting better as you said, but it’s still not quite there, same goes with the material quality. I like the brashness of the design, but sometimes (especially in the interior) it gets too tacky for my tastes. More importantly, when it comes to things like mpg and ride comfort, it’s not as easy to live with.

So a lot worse? Not when it comes to the driving experience, but almost everywhere else it falls a little short compared to rivals - which all adds up in the end. This is just from my personal experience though, so I can see why it’s your thing (especially with 1000bhp), it just doesn’t work for me.

Ok...give us an example of a German car that meets with your favor.

At around the same price as the Caddy?

The M5, RS6, E63 AMG or Panamera if you’re looking for a car that does most of the same things better.

If you’re just after the driving experience, then the Porsche 911 has everything beat.

Mind you, this is just my opinion, I’m sure you have your own preferences and I can respect that.
