Kinja'd!!!

I know its ricey, but I still want one of these covered toggle switches in my car to serve some purpose. Maybe the Hairdresser Mobile could use a Nitrox2 boost.

Kill switch! Since it’ll be in plain sight, just add 3 or 4 and make it so you have to set them in a certain pattern.

Use it to turn on the A/C.

Kill switch was actually what I was thinking. If I had more than one of these in the car then I’d probably get them with black covers to look a little less ostentatious.

Probably wiring in a S2000 starter button where my cigeratte lighter is. Don’t need the starting procedure to be that involving lol

Second on the dome light. Or gas door. Something completely useless to have a toggle switch for.

Permission to engage AC.

Permission granted.

AC activated. Cooling system engaged.

Wire it up as a fuel lump cutoff so you can have a “starting procedure” like a race car.

lol exactly. And put it front and center, with a LED spot light and some angelic music

High boost/low boost. Go from 5psi to 11psi at the flick of a switch

I’m installing USB ports - I could use one of those just to switch on/off the relays that allow power to flow the USB ports.

Maximum overkill!

Something has to provide the boost though. I don’t have any spare turbos or superchargers lying around.

My cigarette lighter circuit is dead so I have no way to power my accessories (mobile phone, backup battery, gps, etc).

Meant the reason for having a switch to cut/turn on power.

The ports I’m installing are these: https://www.bluesea.com/products/1039/Fast_Charge_-_Dual_USB_Charger_Switch_Mount

They are dual-port chargers with a maximum of 4.8A each. They’re wired directly new a separate fuse panel under the hood and will be switched by the ignition - I’m using an Add-a-fuse tap in an unused fuse position in the stock fuse panel to provide the low-current switching power.

I also intend to add a USB charging port since I’ll be losing the cigarette lighter. I did see really nice ports like you are using. But I was thinking it would be possible to buy a cigarette port to wire in where the radio won’t be anymore. Then just buy your typical USB charger than fits in a cigarette lighter.

Kinja'd!!!

I’ve got two of these in my S10. I don’t think of them as ricy.. but airplane-y. Or more specifically helicopter-y, since I actually pulled them out of a wrecked helicopter. For me they are also a unique functional souvenir.

Kinja'd!!!

But I digress. On my truck one is a manual override to turn on my e-fan, the other turns on the tiny amp I have behind my dash. My truck came without a radio so I just installed some speakers in the factory locations in the dash and wired them directly to the cheapest amp money could buy, and plugged in a RCA to AUX jack cable. For a beater truck that I rarely even bother locking, it adds a bit of peace of mind not to have a radio, even a cheap one, hanging out of the dash.

That’s pretty cool. Do you have the switch to turn the amp off so that it doesn’t drain the battery?

Pretty much, also this way I can use it with the ignition swtched off should I desire.

I’m thinking of removing the aftermarket radio the PO of my car installed to replace it with a bluetooth amp. I only use Spotify in the car. I didn’t think about the amp draining the battery before.

why bother making them do anything? just get a few of them and flip them anytime someone is in the car and decline to comment on why.

All the fun none of the wiring hassle!
