Kinja'd!!!

This Caprice is gorgeous. For those not in the know, ‘66 Chevy Caprice pillarless hardtop, done up as a lowrider.

Kinja'd!!!

The pinstriping here takes the cake. It’s just TOO cool.

Kinja'd!!!

Even the interior is striped! That, plus the tuck and roll and the radically large shifter adds so much character, and puts it squarely in the era it was aimed to mimic.

Further proof that modified cars can be and are works of art.

They need to be introduced to a good vinyl cleaner. How can you have something that is done up so nicely and then not keep those seats pearly white?

The int. strikes a nice balance between custom and stock.

I didn’t notice that when I was taking the pictures. Yeah, that’s kinda sad-although the guy did say this was his daily, so it probably gets dirty often. Also, seats are meant to be silver, not white, so they aren’t as dirty as the pictures make them look.

Very nice! Air conditioned, too - - and IIRC, the ‘66 Caprices all had big blocks originally.

That they did, this one is a rebuilt 396. It sounded heavenly.

The Impala, and sometimes the Caprice, is and will always be my favorite Sedan. However, pre-1975 or ‘76 (whenever they changed generations), the cabin was shorter. Perhaps they were body-on-frame up until then, but there was less vertical cabin space and for that reason, I do not especaly care for the earlier Impalas. My favorite was the 77, but if I could find a pristine one now, and they are almost nonexistent in four doors, I’d fit an LS engine.

This one is pretty clean. Very expensive though.

Crack Price. I could see paying maybe half that much for it.

I do love me some big sedans! Too bad it isn’t a 1967. Yup, Supernatural screwed me on that one.
