Avionics guys are risk averse and prefer proven technology? Or avionics guys wouldn’t know a good user interface if it bit them in the rear? Or avionics guys realize touchscreens make for a terrible UI if you’re not staring at the screen?

If they are involved with anything classified being built they may not be allowed phones with cameras in certain areas of their facility, so they have basic flip phones to still be able to bring a phone in there.
