Anyone have an educated guess as to what GS-Fs will go for in 3 or so years?

Fiancé and I were talking financial goals and after the house down payment is reached and house is acquired we’re talking about looking for a DD replacement.

I’ll probably be in FT86 range but I do love having depreciated Lexus sedans with V8s in my life... it’s a pipe dream but some are worth dreaming. Maybe I’ll go for a newer LS. Even some 2010s are in the mid 20k range and by then I can get an updated grill model and then spend the money I didn’t spend on a GS-F/86 Supercharger kit on a cheap Manuél vehicle... Hmm....

I’m guessing $43k or so, given IS F depreciation.

That’s exactly the range I was thinking. They’re going for under sticker right now and 7k a year seemed about right.

does it really feel that slow or just slow for the class?

0-60 4.4 seconds... I have a V8 Lexus with 180 less horsepower and the same weight. It’s fast enough for me.

Slow for how much Lexus hypes it up, price, and class.

I would want the RC-F but it’s actually slower then the GS-F. That LC500 though... want but probably won’t be able to afford for a decade.

Shut up. That’s my plan and you’re driving prices up.

Pssshhhh let’s do this. First to own a GS-F/LS460 wins.

Just keep it quiet we don’t want Zoidberg or ImmoralMinority to hear. There’s enough of them for the two of us. I’ll take mine in blue.

Zoidberg only buys manual Toyotas I’m not worried about him but ImmoralMinority could be a threat... He does have the Sunchaser though. Hmm.

Interesting question. How far under sticker are they now? That sticker is breathtaking right now.

When I got my GS F sport in 2015, the CPO prices were silly, and not that easy to find. Hopefully the F drops faster.

Think it’s on the slow side for the price point.

I was told high $70k to low $80k for 2017. There are used 2016 cars for $65k everywhere though. Do you have a GS350 F Sport then? The brakes on that car are very expensive at the dealer. My dad does the brakes for $800 and people are running to us to get them done.

That’s an 8-10k discount on new then, right?

Maybe next year a used F can replace my F sport...

Chicago burbs. It’d be exactly a year from now. Current one is leased (don’t ask) and expires May 2018. If I do it can be arranged

I edited one of my comments but didn’t get it before you commented. Have you done the brakes on your GS350 F Sport yet?

No- it’s only got 25k on it. I have an E46 convertible that I try to drive when the weather is nice.

Nothing more intense than an oil change on it yet. $800? Why? Rotors with the pads or something?

I don’t really care, my 240Z is not as fast as many modern cars, by comparison it would be just fine. I just want a comfortable and well made car that is the opposite of the Z. I would consider a 370Z Nismo too.

Well, the other side of the equation that I forgot to mention is that the GS-F is faster while having 4 doors which is optimal for me.

I have an old W123 mercedes, if I need four doors I can do it, only really needed it once when my in laws came to visit from Japan, the only guy that rides with us is a bulldog in back, a coupe is ok for us. The back seat of the Merc has been covered with a big cushion and he has all the room he needs. The Z has room but it’s basically a race car and it’s loud, bumpy and I think he is pretty uncomfortable in it!

My greyhound rides in the back of my LS400 between school and home(2 and half hours) and is in the lap of luxury. He takes the entire back seat though. A GS-F would take over my DD duties though from the LS. After 309,000 miles as of just now it’s getting close to being retired to a garage to be restored and babied.

Lexuses hold value absurdly well, but this one may also be somewhat overpriced. I’d guess $50,000-$60,000.

I think they overshot the market with the price, and you’re seeing that now with the $8-10k discounts. It’s a good car, but it’s just not an $87k car.

Then quietly but certainly go up.

I think it’s because the perception of Lexus is ultimate build quality and reliability, not performance (LFA being the lone exception). The F’s have zero heritage compared to AMGs or Ms. It’s better to compare/cross-shop against an Audi S.

The new LC is being marketed correctly: a luxurious, big, unapologetic GT coupe.
