Today I learned that Terry Jones, the underrated Python—if there is such a thing—has fairly advanced dementia . Unsurprising to no one, the take away is that Michael Palin is a complete sweetheart.

I mean, Graham Chapman has been dead for a while, and he was my idol as a kid, but there’s still something supremely depressing about considering that the Pythons are mortals just like anyone else.

yeah. ‘s why I’m sympathetic with people who are upset that so many notable people are passing away lately, but the sad truth is it’s because so many of the people we’ve grown up listening to and watching are simply all getting old at the same time.

Oh man, when did my house become an onion processing plant. Also, how strange would it be if you were walking down the street when all of a sudden a freaking terry jones comes up to you and and tells you his frontal lobe has absconded. I’d have my own breakdown right then and there.

I still haven’t come to terms with the concept that as I get older, so does everyone else I looked up to in my youth, whether they were famous or not.

last year, a buddy of mine’s mom passed away in her 60s. I remember my grandfather’s death when he was 65. All I could think was “what the hell, I’m not old enough for this shit yet. my peers are not supposed to be burying their parents.”

Half of my family died in their 50s and 60s and half lived to their 90s and were chainsmokers. I’m banking that I got the right sort of ethnic genes and not the wrong ones.
