Fun fact: My Jag’s rear view mirror slides up to attach and is held in place by friction. I spent a year with it falling off every time I hit a bump until I saw a post on JaguarForums by some magnificent bastard who solved it by cutting thin strips of electrical tape and sticking them into the grooves.
To this day, if you asked me what the use of electrical tape is, I will tell you that it’s to add friction.
