A car wich is is not commonly lusted after, but still has a special place in your heart and you would like to own.

Kinja'd!!!

For me, I’d have to say I really want a W210 Mercedes.

worst gen is the best gen

as a barely 20 year old, this grandpa-mobile really intrigues me.

(I may have even test drove one not too long ago but the guy didn’t accept my offer)

C63 AMG. I know it’s auto only and the interior quality isn’t the best but I still want one.

A friend of mine owns a silver W210 which actually suits an 18 year old surprisingly well.

I really want an E36 or E46 BMW Compact. (Kinja won’t let me post pictures)

Something about the styling of the early dustbuster vans does it for me, even though they’re really not great vehicles, and I tend to prefer... smaller vehicles:

The Tatra 603 definitely does it for me, for big luxury sedans:

I have a w210. I’m not really sure where all the ill will comes from. Mines had issues from neglect but once those were fixed it’s been pretty easy going.

A final generation 2005 Cadillac DeVille DHS. My S-Class is clearly better in every way, but I still want an old Cadillac in my garage. There is just something indefinable about those last DeVilles, maybe it’s the big LED tail lights, I don’t know.

I still see tons of clean W210s on the road. Maybe not MBs finest hour, but maybe unfairly lambasted - at least in climates without rust.

I had a W210 E55, it wasn’t exactly a W124 in terms of quality feel, but it wasn’t a bad car by any means.

A ‘96 or ‘97 Subaru Legacy Touring GT-B Limited with the 5-speed. The twin-turbo setup can be fussy, and the power delivery can be a bit dead between turbos, but come on... 280 hp twin turbo AWD wagon with a stick that weighs ~3,100 lbs. Also, just look at those seats...

Kinja'd!!!

I keep having the mental debate between one of these or a similar vintage WRX STi in ~5 years when they are legal... the GT-B is winning that battle. I just hope that I’ll still be able to find one in decent shape, and that I’ll be in a position to own one by then...

I have less than zero need for a MK1 Bentley Continental GT but man you know the feeling when you’re on Autotrader (other car search engines are available) and you accidentally (quite purposefully) look at cheap exotica and boy £20,000 for a 200 mph big olde Bentley which shares a lot of parts with those £5,000 Audis is mighty tempting.

The late 80s Fleetwood Brougham, and same era Suburban. I want those so much. I think I’ll try to find one of them for under 1000 bucks when I come to California this summer.

I’m getting kinja’d hard, so I can’t post photos. Current gen Chrysler 200 in Ceramic Blue. Yes it’s a piece of crap, but the styling is lovely.

Subaru Brat; it must still have the rear seats and gets bonus points if it has the 80's graphics still intact. I even talked to my insurance agent after Demuro drove one to make sure I wouldn’t have to sign something saying the seats wouldn’t be used. His response was to let me know he’d buy me lunch if I drove him around in the back of it. Oh, and rear seat riders need to be 16 or older.

Second, almost any microcar preferably a Messerschmitt TG500. I’m not sure what the top speed is supposed to be but the nearest road to me with a speed limit under 50mph is 4 miles away so I’d probably be killed by the grille of an SUV on my first drive.

Edit: holy crap just read the Messerschmitt tiger supposedly has a 90mph top speed. That would be terrifying! Now I want it even more!

Had pics to add but kinja doesn’t like me right now.

One of my uncles had one when I was a kid. I loved hopping into the back and blasting down the backroads around my grandparents farm. It was one of the first cars I ever drove. I was probably 12 at the time.

210's are awesome! I’m on my third and have no intentions of ever selling it. No intentions of buying a 124 or 211 either. Only thing I would want to upgrade to would be a 2010-2011 E63.

My irrational want would be an AMC Eagle.

W210 owner here. Yea my wife calls it my old mans car. But it does whats its supposed to do. Rather well. Once I’ve gotten past the deferred maintanance-and the rotten spring perches its been a nice ride. Coming from VW’s prior, this thing is a breeze to work on.

When you do finally get one () I recommend a facelifted one either way, they’re much more reliable too.
