!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

So it’s Sunday morning and I’m cruising Craigs for bikes I can’t afford right now, and this shows up. “Modified matte black tank and body”? Is that code for “I rattle-canned it and thought it looked okay”? But $2500 for a 37 year old murdered-out Yammy?

I’d offer more like $1700 for it and hope to get the seller down to $2000 but honestly, other than the matte finish (I can take it or leave it) it looks pretty decent. Engine looks really clean, I don’t see any signs of leakage. Rear shocks look new-ish. Chrome seems really nice for a bike that age. Mileage is fairly low. Heck, even the matte finish looks decently done and not a rattle can job, or at least, a very nice rattle can job. Overall it looks like it was well cared for so $2500 doesn’t seem like a crazy asking price, assuming the person would be willing to settle for $2000.

This just strikes me as a $1500 scoot all day long.

Yeah if it were in rougher condition that’s what I would think too. But other than the paint job, it looks in nice shape so I’m thinking more like $2000? Again, assuming it runs/works as well as it looks. The paint thing is a real wildcard. If it still had original paint, I don’t think anyone would bat an eye at the price considering the condition looks really nice. I still think $2000 is a solid price for any bike in solid running condition.

The 850 Triples are actually decently desirable, and this one looks like it’s in pretty good shape, with a cheap paint job. I still say it’s CP, but for someone looking specifically for an 850 triple, it’s not too far off.

Edit: have never had to utilize the kick start (which is a rare feature) .

Got a chuckle out of that because I’m fairly certain that every 750 and 850 triple came with a kick start.
