Racing videos are expensive so I thought I’d start a series on my opinions on various motorsports topics. Here’s my first one!

Very well reasoned, next time someone says “F1 should race at Laguna Seca!” this video needs to be shared to explain why their thoughts aren’t well-founded.

Neat. Honest (hopefully helpful) criticism. You need to inject some energy into your voice. You’ve got good info and points. If you add energy it will help take it to the next level

Thanks! Although a better argument for that would include a critique of the rest of the track. It’s a relatively tight circuit and turn 2 is really the only good passing spot.
But I don’t dislike Laguna Seca, or the Corkscrew. I just don’t think it deserves all the hype it gets.

That is helpful, thanks! I’m a pretty chill guy so being energetic, especially when I’m recording a voice-over in my bedroom, doesn’t really come naturally to me. But I’ll keep it in mind and work on it in the future!

Yeah, it’s not a natural thing to do.
When I need to podcast or record audio I tend to sing along to music loudly in my car before hand. It gets the energy up and forces me to use my voice. So when I talk afterward it’s naturally at a higher more energetic state

I’m with you about the hype, it seems people focus on the Corkscrew too much and feel it’s best for F1/NASCAR/IndyCar/etc. because of that one section of track. Certainly it’s not a bad track by any means, just not the “greatest” as many claim it to be.

Stoked. I lose time at that turn and just ¯\_()_/¯ and try to make it up elsewhere. That’s a different line than I’ve been taking. I’ve been breaking early and wide and slow, knowing I’ll speed right back up going downhill while certain I’ll have plenty of track. You straighten the turns out more. It’s a much faster line. Thanks for making this video.
