Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Saw this handsome fella at a local shop the other day. The guy also had some Ferrari thing, but this was way cooler. There’s a plethora of Communist cars in my neighborhood. This, a Niva, a Volga, and even a UAZ. Thanks Trump!

Bonus cat picture.

Wow that sure looks clean. I assume it has been in the US for most its life?

Also, is that some kind of Alfa in front of it on the lift?

A. Cute kitty!

B. WHERE DO YOU LIVE CAN I CRASH ON YOUR COUCH AND COME VISIT :P

I have a thing for communist cars, haha....very cool to see that Lada! Those are my favorite generation (or the earlier dual-round headlight models) before they started to get...uglier, haha. A Volga and a UAZ? Awesome! They still produce UAZs brand new in Russia to this day, which is crazy, but awesome! What model year Volga? Those are pretty rare over here compared to the Lada and the UAZ!

Haha. Glendale, CA. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, the couch is yours. Here’s the UAZ.

The Volga is a 21. It might actually be this one Jay Leno profiled because it looks just like it. His place isn’t far from me. I have a picture of it, but Kinja is being Kinja and doesn’t want me posting photos.

I have no idea how long it’s been here. The owner wasn’t around.

That is an Alfa. That place services some interesting cars. I’ve also seen a Peugeot 504 Coupe there.

No Samara. I know there’s at least one in America, but not in my neighborhood. Yet.

Very cool! I remember that video - think Jay would mind if I borrowed some of his cars sometime? :P

Love the GAZ! That’s a pretty awesome color!

Every once in a while, if you’re in Burbank, you’ll see some insanely cool old car and there will be Jay. I’ve never seen anyone else drive one, though.

Yeah, that thing is amazing. He apparently spent a lot of money restoring it. And it might be sitting on a Bronco chassis. But, it’s so cool to see. I saw him driving it the other day.

Mid ‘70's 2000 GTV. On top of a 911!

Awesome! Just that exhaust, what was the owner thinking?

And.. 3 more or less vintage 911s within what, 60 square yards?

I have no idea why those things happen.

And an Alfa on the lift, and a Dino GT4 was there, too. There’s a Porsche specialist across the street, so there’s always a line of 911's there.

And that’s what the cat saw when you took her picture? Or is that one taken when she heard you snoring? She seems upset.

Looks like a great shop. Take the Le Car there for getting the engine swapped!

She doesn’t like getting her picture taken. She too good for that.

Maybe they can swap that Dino engine in. That I’d pay for.

We’ll have to look after Tijger, the neighbor’s cat, while they’re on a holiday. Tijger doesn’t mind pictures.

Poor Le Car. It would break in two. Glorious, but still...

05/09/2017 at 03:46, STARS: 1

Tijgert is 17 years old, the owners feel he could collapse any moment now. We even have a protocol for that!

Kinja'd!!! "Jonee" (Jonee)
05/10/2017 at 21:20, STARS: 1

Wow. That’s like a 100 years old in human time. I guess it’s good to be prepared. What’s the protocol for a dead cat? I’ve known a couple cats that made it to nearly 20, so he could have more time left. There’s an old cat that lives at my building that a couple of us take care of that I’m expecting to kick the bucket any time now. I call her Ol’ Patches.

Kinja'd!!!

She’s been around for years. Does Josje like cats?

Kinja'd!!! "Jobjoris" (Jobjoris)
05/11/2017 at 05:23, STARS: 1

Call the right people (daughter), have a service and burry it in the garden! Josje is truly cat-woman. Every single cat, even the ones that dislike EVERYONE, walks to her and lays down next to her. Tijgert really hates people. Except for the neighboring family. And Josje. After Josje talked to Tijgert even I am allowed in his circle of trust.

Kinja'd!!!

Beertje , another neighboring cat, even walks into our house, all the way up to our bedrooms. That’s not normal now is it?

Kinja'd!!! "Jonee" (Jonee)
05/12/2017 at 00:22, STARS: 1

Ha. That’s funny. The cat whisperer. My cat would put her to the test. She doesn’t like anyone but me. She hisses at my neighbors through the window. My mother’s like that, too. Babies and cats always like her. Or, maybe they fear her, I’m not sure.

Outdoor cats always adopt people more than the people adopt them. If you’re nice to them, your home is their home as far as they’re concerned. No formal invitation necessary. Patches waltzes right in and starts browsing around if I leave the back door open.

Kinja'd!!! "Jobjoris" (Jobjoris)
05/12/2017 at 02:46, STARS: 1

Well, both me and Krista are allergic to cats as you might or might not remember. So it’s a bit weird. To come home. And find this in the living room.

And yet, both Beertje and Tijgert jump on my lap all the time. Tijgert’s favorite sleeping place seems to be my chest when I’m laying in the garden.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!! "Jonee" (Jonee)
05/16/2017 at 02:27, STARS: 1

Well, that’s the quickest way to get all stuff you’re allergic to in your system. How much time do you normally spend laying in the garden?

Kinja'd!!! "Jobjoris" (Jobjoris)

Half an hour before diner, clearing the mind. Why? If the weather is nice that is.

Kinja'd!!! "Jobjoris" (Jobjoris)
05/18/2017 at 05:18, STARS: 1

Nope. A supplier of a client. Worst decision ever. EVER! Things that usually take like 5 minutes now take over a month. Really.

Kinja'd!!! "Jonee" (Jonee)
05/20/2017 at 23:23, STARS: 1

Jesus. That sounds frustrating. What the heck takes them so long? My father used to deal with the Chinese in his work. Those people were efficient.

Kinja'd!!! "Jobjoris" (Jobjoris)
05/21/2017 at 07:58, STARS: 1

They. Don’t. Know. What. They’re. Doin’.

Really. The 5 minute work I instructed them, even with screenshots. They just can’t decide who’ll be able to pick up this extremely hard task until you’ll escalate the request and then you’ll end up in a 5-people teleconference in a busy office with lots of noise from other Indian people not understanding a single word (well, sentence), when you finally scream out “I sent you a document a month ago stating step by step what you need to do, with screenshots!!!” and then it’s picked up finally. Why I don’t do it myself? It’s a rights & security thing. Can’t imagine them being capable of setting up a decent security environment though, but still.

This has to be the most terrible outsourcing I’ve experienced. It’s laughable. I wouldn’t even believe it when someone told me the stuff I’ve heard. Even the customer now agrees this only costs ‘m more money as the expensive ones (me!) are hired way more now without creating more output. It’s just chasing and damage control.

Kinja'd!!! "Jonee" (Jonee)
05/25/2017 at 01:27, STARS: 1

Yeah, it’s completely not worth it if they can’t do the job. They outsourced because of price? That’s an old conundrum. Cheap can cost more. Buy nice, or buy twice.

Kinja'd!!! "Jobjoris" (Jobjoris)
05/25/2017 at 03:59, STARS: 1

Of course it’s the price that was the reason. You don’t want to know what the Dutch external workforce has invoiced for damage control by now, nor do you want to know what has been postponed/delayed ever since. It’s a disaster.

Kinja'd!!! "Jonee" (Jonee)

Malaya. And Serbia/Riga. India never worked for me.

Kinja'd!!! "Jonee" (Jonee)
06/01/2017 at 15:23, STARS: 1

Huh. Interesting. I wonder how much outsourcing America does to Serbia. You don’t hear about that very much. Do you ever have to travel to those places?

Kinja'd!!! "Jobjoris" (Jobjoris)
06/02/2017 at 04:00, STARS: 1

Nope. Well Riga I did but that was a long time ago. Outsourcing companies now have either a Serb/Lat/Malayan over here coordinating stuff or Dutch guys over there to supervise.
