You used to be able to type the html in line with the rest of the post and it’d show once you published. It was super easy. You could even do more advanced stuff like tables.

Don’t we still have HTML on posts?
I remember we had it on comments as well, and while it was annoying to lose it there, it’s understandable given that it was being widely used by spammers to override the CSS and make their posts ungray, and that is about the least harmful thing you can imagine a bad actor doing with the ability to inject HTML.

I should learn how to HTML sometime. I just found out not long ago that you can embed a Google map into a Kinja post through the HTML box. I bet there’s a bunch more cool tricks that the main post editor doesn’t provide shortcuts for.
