$4500-5000 seems reasonable. People will probably complain about the 3FE and lack of diff lockers, but it’s every bit as capable as any 80 series. Some really go for the cloth seats, plus no port-installed roof perforations.

Ha. I’m very much not that guy: bought a winter truck with no A/C, drove a winter truck with no A/C, selling a winter truck with no A/C. Never looked into it because why would I need A/C on a winter truck? No idea what it needs but it could well be more than refrigerant and a belt.

One of my buddys caught a fj40 posted within an hour the next town over, owner got it from his grampa, it lived in the garage since 1985, was used as a snowplow back in the day; $2500 obo- they jumped in the truck an pulled a car trailer up there. Turns out it’s cherry, unmodified, and baby blue..

Oh, exactly. I loved that bit from DeMuro, though, because it’s so often what people say when the a/c doesn’t work. You simply stated, “it doesn’t work, it was a winter vehicle for me,” etc. which is perfect. Your ad is one of the most honest I’ve ever read, and if that vehicle were a lot closer to me I’d be tempted for that price. Oh wait, if it was in New England it would be $8k or it would be rusty. But I digress...
