“Honey, I’m thinking about selling our completely reliable Toyota Highlander to get one of these!”
*Wife rolls eyes and walks away*
“Is that a yes?”

There can be only one...unreliable car in the family. Seriously, words to live by.

Normally I would, but this Mrs wants nothing to do with a manual trans, if she has to drive the car in a pinch.
When asked if she’s ok with me teaching her, she said “Nope.”

In the timeframe between the breakdowns and the trips to the dealership, the reliability will be immaculate. It’s all a matter of perspective.

TBH, ze Porsche currently in my garage is fairly relaible. I mean, except for that pesky top-end rebuild that will require both kidneys and a spleen.

I had a neighbor get a very fun little car that was a stick as his DD, and a plain-jane minivan for the family car. The wife learned to drive stick with impressive haste.

My wife refuses to drive my car because it’s stick. I tried to teach her but she got sick of it very quickly.
Even when I had a 135is DCT she drove it maybe 3 times in as many years because she kept going way faster than she realized.

....has one at $30K. That’s too high for my “needless car purchase on a whim” budget. :)
