As we roll into the wee hours of Day 2, here’s a look at the first day’s results.
The rage was tacos, thanks to CB’s investments in taco stocks, propelling him to the top of the boards early yesterday. However, tacos cooled off and SXT’s investments showed strength.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are middling right around where we started from. Myself on the other hand, I diversified quite a bit, which ate me up in commission fees. Which is what those of us at the bottom of the board are waiting to bounce back from I’d imagine.

That’s one of the reasons I kept the game one month long.
It’d be nice to play a year long game, but that takes dedication because after a while there is nothing to do as there’s only a few strategies that win out in the long term.

I ended up managing to find the stats from the old game. What the hell did you do to end up with 600k? It looks like you sold a penny stock at just the right time. What was it trading at when you dumped it, if you know?

That stock was trading at such a tiny value I honestly couldn’t tell. It was like .00015 or something.
But I learned a couple important things playing that game - especially with penny stocks and companies with minuscule, chump change market caps. That stock I was messing with was a company that didn’t have any more than a couple hundred shares traded each week, and I was dealing with millions of shares in volume. Its market cap was $15k or something.
Which exposed a bug/shortcoming of the game itself, not accounting for how many shares were outstanding for each company. That’s why I banned stocks that cost less than $2 in this game, so there aren’t any unrealistic trades taking place without realizing it.
