IT’S BROKEN AGAIN. Friggin’ trans line burst up near the trans cooler. Aghhhhhhh. This car hates us.
(No, really. My Dad is cursed I think. We had the Mustang at home last year for ONE night and the rear view mirror fell off.)
But I will fix this bitch until there’s nothing left to fix. Oh, did I mention that it slipped into neutral THREE TIMES before the line burst?
Hey, does anyone have a Muncie M22 they’d be willing to let go for cheap (half joking)

It’s how I’m trying to see it. It really sucks because Dad launched it second gear like 10 minutes earlier and it FINALLY felt fast. Which means something in the trans is messed up, since in drive it doesn’t have much power. I don’t think it’s kicking down.

is it a th350 or 400? it could not be kicking down or it might have something wrong internally. Ive had a th350 in 33 ford that never had 3rd gear, it would only shift into second.
Also a M20 or M21 would work great, M22 is usually overkill or you just want the famous noise they make.

If its slipping into neutral that’s a linkage adjustment. Nothing internal to the trans.
as for the trans lines.. Make sure you run good high pressure hose (400PSI+) but I prefer steel line or AN lines.

TH350 or TH400? if its a 400 make sure the vacuum modulator and electric kick down are hooked up.

make sure you use the high temperature, high pressure rated 3/8 hose for the trans cooler. i have had issues in the past getting other peoples projects that had fuel line, or vacuum line instead. yeah, the fuel line will hold up for a while, but it will eventually give it up to the heat and pressure..............

On the plus side th350s are super common on Craigslist. I get you though hopefully it’s external and not internal. Transmission stuff is the worst, I would replace the vacuum modulator if you haven’t. Anything with a vacuum diaphragm is guaranteed to be shot at this age.
